About

Domsdatabasen (open since 2022) is Domstolsstyrelsen's database of selected Danish court decisions, built to give citizens, businesses, and legal professionals a way to follow the courts' work. Decisions are pseudonymized (personal names removed, though lawyers' and higher-court judges' names remain visible). Beyond the public web search, two API-based download services exist — a bulk export of case metadata and documents, and an incremental feed of changes since a given date — but both require applying to Domstolsstyrelsen for API access rather than being self-serve.

Agent Use Cases

  • 01Track new court decisions in a specific case area for legal research agents
  • 02Bulk-ingest pseudonymized rulings for legal-tech corpus building
  • 03Poll the delta feed to keep a local case-law index in sync

Notes

Web search is free and public; the bulk/delta API requires a formal application to Domstolsstyrelsen — not self-serve. Coverage started with civil and selected criminal cases from 2022 onward, not a full historical archive. Decisions are pseudonymized but not fully anonymized — handle downstream use accordingly.
